1. lntroduction

Once you have put a battery of 9V tvpe CEI-6LR61 check that the needle on off position is above zero. If it isn't set it with the central screw (in the middle).

   
2. On the front side there is a reverser with a double fonction:
a. TC for the colour temperature
b. CC for the colour compensation
 

3. Directions

To determine the colour temperature of a light source, hold the LUXCOLORMETRE in vertical position and turn the rear side towards the source, make sure that you are in the right axis, turn the reversing switch on the TC position and press the ON button, the needle will show the TC value, now vou have to multiply by 1000, example : 3,6 = 3'600°k.

4.How to determine the filterinq value. The table on the back of the LUXCOLORMETRE helps you to determine the correct type of filter you need. accordinq to the chromatic sensitivity of the film (3200°k or 5500°k). Example : the instrument shows 3,6 (= 3600°k), to qet 5500°k read the value given in Mired, under the column of 5500°, in front of 3600°k corresponding to -96 mireds.You could also interpose some more filters between the light source and the sounding integrator in order to put the needle on 5500°k. The analogica] display allows a continuous measurement if necessary.

5.How to determine the colour compensation. Go on as above, put the switch on the CC position, read the indication on the scale below of Magenta or Green to compensate with Minus or Plus Green, the values are directly indicated in the complementary colour. Example : the needle is located on the 1/2 Magenta colour, now you have to put a filter of 1/2 Minus Green or CC15 Magenta. If the needle remains on the white zone between Magenta and Green no colour compensation is necessary.

6.Notes :- Even the measurement range is from 25OO°k to 1O'OOO°k you can get higher values by interpose some other filters between the LUXCOLORMETRE and the light source as already described before.- The battery is used up : the needle sways; but every year you have to change the battery for precaution.- We always recommend to settle the temperature of the light source (TC) before measuring the colour compensation (CC).. Remember that everv producer manufactures filters of particular characteristics .
