The Panomigon is a modern ultra wide angle 15mm lens, concieved by CAD using powerful calculation software. Perfectly corrected, it is nearly devoid of distorsion : the lines of the subject remain straight, despite a record image angle of 110° and a geometrical aperture of:11.
The surprising quality of restoration of this optical system, its very compact ergonomics (the lens exceeds the camera body by hardly 7mm), as well as the fact that there is no need to focus (the image is clear from 30cm to infinity) make this lens a very handy tool. The Panomigon 15mm lens allows the user to toy with the vertiginous exaggeration of perspectives, to privilege foregrounds, and to fully exploit the panoramic format (13 x 36mm). It is the perfect tool for reportage as well as for architectural photography.
Its retrofocus construction and its ACV system (Auto Compensation Vignetting) developed by Lux Technologies ensure a homogeneous distribution of the intensity of illumination on the film surface. The ACV system replaces advantageously the very expensive concentric graduated neutral grey filter. The photometric aperture is f: 22. An orthoscopic lens, the Panomigon 15mm differs by an almost total absence of linear distortion, thanks to the utilization of high refraction index glass. The very weak curvature of the frontal lens allows the attachment of filters and other creative accessories in the standard diameter of 49mm, which is not possible with concurrent lenses.
The very robust mechanism (all metal) ensures a timeless resistance. The internal parts undergo micro-sandblasting preliminary to an anodic antiflare process, giving a dull deep black finish. The lenses, made from SCHOTT and CORNING optical glass of exceptional quality, are manufactured in France with the most extreme precision, thanks to tools conceived especially for Lux Technologies. Each lens receives a wide band anti-reflection multicoating treatment, appropriate to its refraction index. An uncompromising choice, esential for producing a sharp image, maximum contrast and the most vivid and true colours. With Panomigon, the secondary spectrum is reduced to a minimum.
Each Panomigon 15mm lens is checked with the greatest care, not only on a MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) optical test bench, but also by photographic tests with film a means to which Lux Technologies accords a great importance. In this way the highest level of quality can be reached.
VIEW FINDER |
Indispensable complement of the Panomigon, the 15mm view finder, fastens on the camera body by the accessory shoe. The view finder has five optical components and contains a multi-axis spirit-level which is visible in the frame of the view; very useful for architectural photography.
